Angus Blackwood

I co-founded Sea Eagle after the hugely successful InnovateUK funded proof of concept project when we developed and tested a broadcast specific Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system.

With the huge growth of remote production, broadcast security is no longer about network perimeter protection. Cloud systems are inherently less secure leaving broadcasters, service providers and vendors vulnerable to attack, subsequent disruption and financial exposure.

I spend my time helping companies and teams perform at their best. I work with leading broadcast and media companies, helping them solve business technical and security challenges. I'm an auditor for the World Teleport Association, which involves assessing, certifying and advising satellite teleports on best practice. In addition, I provide technical advice covering due diligence, acquisitions and consolidation of broadcast and media companies. I am a qualified Lead Auditor for ISO27001, accredited by PECB.

Previously, I led engineering and operations teams at director-level positions for over 20 years. At Arqiva, I ran the teams providing all broadcast services across the UK, including terrestrial TV and radio, as well as satellite and OTT services. In my earlier career, I enjoyed working in various engineering positions at the European Space Agency, Airbus, Vega Telespazio and WorldSpace.

I'm a chartered engineer with a degree in engineering from Aberdeen University and an MBA from Warwick Business School.
